One of a series of heavily processed sounds of me ripping various objects off a sticky surface. I ran the original recordings through s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, combining and mulching everything into new, dynamic sounds with lots of movement and texture.

A high-pitched, metal windchime, sent through some granular processing software. The reel is divided into two, long halves: one with the sound playing forwards and one with it playing in reverse. This means i can easily switch from forward to reverse without tuning issues, simply by applying cv to the morphagene's 'slide' control.

It is a recording made with the following instrument´s: 1. Tuperware plastic and spoon; 2. A steren brand microphone, steren amateur model, was used; 3. The recording was done using the pure data adc code, and the necessary code to make a sampler with [tabwrite ~]; 4. The recording was made with the audio interface provided by the tb-03 monophonic synthesizer and with the arduor 5 digital audio station; the processing instruments used to perform equalization, mixing and mastering, the so-called “eq arduor team” and “compressor arduor team” virtual instruments.

This is a recording of a slow freight train passing from about 50 feet away using the internal mics of a tascam dr-40. The recording was made in southern mississippi, usa. The train was going down a gentle slop, around a bend. The engines can be heard approaching and passing, followed by the various sounds made by the wheels as the individual cars pass. The file was edited using adobe audition 6. The processing used was a high pass filter around 30 hz and a multi-band compressor. A couple of times during the recording clipping of the pre-amps can be heard because i was manually riding the input gain.

20 minutes field recording of eveningsounds in my backyard in belgium, springtime in 2021. At first a few chickens wander close to the microphone, your hear doves and a lot of blackbirds singing to each other. After a few minutes the chickens prepare for the night. This was recorded as foley for a sound design / composition contract i took for a theatre company. We needed a train sound to signify crates of dead soldiers being shipped back from the front lines, to be processed and fed to soldiers holding encampants behind the lines. It was recorded in an arcade adjoining outbuildings of a factory converted to studio and office spaces. I excused myself from rehearsal to catch the recording shortly after learning a woman i'd been seeing for about a year was through with our relationship. I could not find the sound i wanted that i had in mind, and was tired of all the wimpy whistle sounds so i made my own with the whistle i keep on my car keys. Cricket ball bouncing on a bat: sounds like a constant knocking on a door but has a slight ting at the end of each bounce. Recorded using the zoomh4n and using the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. No processing has been done to this sound. The bat used in the sound is a kookaburra kahuna 150 english willow and the ball was a bellingham & smith 135g match cricket ball.

Recording of a day of the dead celebration at the museum of native american history in washington, d. C. (2014) features drumming, flute playing, chanting, yelling / whooping, whip crack sounds. Drenched in natural reverb (recorded from top floor of a circular performance space with a stone ceiling), with lots of low-frequency rumble. Possible use: could be processed for horror ambience.

A semi-automatic rifle, pitched down 3 semi-tones. Made in bitwig, i used 10 different recorded gunshot layers that have been eq'ed and multiband compressed to form a new gun sound. Subbass was synthesized for the super low end. The process i use is to select frequencies using high pass and lowpass filters from a recording for the lows, mids and highs. This forms a "layered sound".

This is only a recording of me playing a djembe, recorded with a pair of nt1-a mics, but after messing around with some of logic's amp and resonator effects i ended up with this. 4am on 7th june 2015 in the small rural town of charbury in the cotswolds, uk. At about 3 min 45 sec my neighbour's central heating clicks in for a minute. An aeroplane can be heard in the distance from 7 min 30 secchurch bells strike 4am at 8 min 26 sec. Recorded with a stereo pair of akg c1000s mics into a motu8 audio interface. No eq or other processing.

It's a recording of a modern portable cash register printing a daily report. Then the paper tape is ripped of. There are funny frequency effects caused by the paper tape getting longer and resonating different frequencies. The sound have not beet piped through any processing. Recording of some new year's celebrations in vienna. Captured using a clippy stereo em172 microphone and a zoom h5 handheld recorder. I positioned the microphone capsules outside the window on the left and right and then gently (almost) closed it. I setup the recorder and rolled the whole evening. This bit was around the apex of the celebrations in that part of town. Sadly some clipping occured, but i chose to upload the unaltered file. So no post-processing has been applied. Cut in ocenaudio. A recording of my mini-fridge that i split into two components - the hum (this) and the evaporator thing that makes all the drippy sounds. I separated them so people can change the volume of each element, since i noticed with my fridge that you can only really hear the hum if you're really close, but hear the drippy sounds from quite a distance away, even if they're really quiet. Recorded with a zoom h4n pro, used rx7 to separate the elements. As always, i've got the un-modified loop in my "raw recordings" pack.

Chinese flute loop from morphagene processed to rainforest atmosphere by makenoise and cortini´s strega. Strega is also being sequenced by rené. A little harder hitting than its sister track. Layered snare that has been eq'd (equalised)it was made in ableton and processed with a couple of third party plugins. It's a combination of sounds that i've found on the internet and recorded. This snare obviously doesn't have to be played in trap music but it's been layered with a 808 even if you can't here it or not it has similar fundamentals. It has been compressed also.

This is a wave of some sounds that remind me of what sound design for the rugrats cartoon backing music. I made the sounds using an fm synthesis patch on the ios application "addictive synth" on my ipod touch and recorded the audio within the app. No post-processing was done to the audio. Exactly, its the cap of a cheap alluminium box,scrapped over with a metallic brush full of cat's hair. Lol. Pure spontaneous improvisation>. Recorded with a ultra cheap microphone unit of my mp3 player. Reduced noise.

Hitting radiator with fingers and scrapping over with a metallic object (car-key). Additionally amplified, notch-filter and accented subs. Results in a interesting sound scape. I've started to save my files in pcm format (instead of acm) because there was additionally quality loss. Recorded with a ultra cheap microphone unit of my mp3 player. Reduced noise.

Recording is a 24 bit stereo wav file. Literally using a "motivational speaker" tape found in a box (full of several more of these god awful things!) while digging through the neighborhood trash to test out and setup a pitch-shifted vocal patch for my noisecore project. Effects used: danelectro fish & chips eq, korg ax3g multi-effect, and alesis nanoverb direct to sound card. Processed in goldwave(compression to reduce peaks and fading on the beginning/end. ).

Recorded myself cutting up, tearing and squishing a watermelon, resulting sounds processed only with a slight low-cut and normalization. Recording quality was not as great as i would have hoped although there should still be something useful here, i learnt 2 valuable lessons though:. 1. Watermelon juice and microphones are best kept separated. 2. Sounds travels quite well through kitchen worktops so don't put the mic flat on it!.

Time to give something back. Drilling right in front of my house. Because internet cable was broken. Used the opportunity to mic it up. Recording made from inside. Drilling is about 5m away with a wall in between. You can hear my son about halfway through way in the background. But thought i wouldn't cut up the sample. Recording using 2 x gefell m930 in ortf stereo. No processing. Use freely. Would appreciate attribution if you use it, but not mandatory.

A sound of an umbrella handle expanding and retracting, making clicking sounds. Great for foley and sound design. Recorded with a tascam tm-80 in a non sound proofed room, without an anti-pop filter. The umbrella was fairly close from the mic during recording. The post-processing was minor, just an eq to cut out some of the superfluous low frequencies. In this sample you hear a recording from inside a well sound insulated room, directly under the roof of a house. Strong rain hints the roof and produces low frequency muted sounds. In the background you hear the constant noise of the rain, coming through the window. There are also a few raindrops hitting the glass of the window. The sample was recorded using the built-in stereo microphone of a zoom h4n recorder. It was slightly processed to remove unwanted low and high frequencies which were not related to the actual recording. I was experimentally, recording the garage door opener, but then this happened: next door neighbor kick-starts motorcycle, idles it, an aircraft passes by, and then the motorcyclist rides away. Recorded sound is indirect except for a brief moment when the motorcycle pulls past the open garage door in the alley outside. Set up with schoeps cmc6-uxt/ mk41+mk8 ms stereo in rycote zeppelin on tripod in small suburban single-car garage that faces an alley between lots. Ms-decoded and recorded as l+r channels on sound devices mixpre-6 @ 24/192. Some light post-processing to adjust levels as well as a little compression on the loudest moment.

A soundscape of several thunderstorms mixed together to create a uniquely immersive, full field recording. This editing process allows for rain and thunder strikes to be recorded at different volumes and creates a more diverse atmosphere with different types of rain, wind, and ambiance melded into one found sound. Although each storm was recorded in a slightly different location, everything is from the greater detroit, mi, usa area. -recorded entirely with a tascam dr-03 set at 48 k / 24 bit. Then each different storm was edited together in magix music maker. -this album version fades out with a simple, repeating synth line.

Process: a while ago i worked on a game and recorded several sound effects, one track after another. With the session set up the way it was, i opened all the channels and selected a section and exported it. After exporting, i threw it into paulstretch, and rendered that at the default settings.
